We sat down with three employees to get their take on what it’s like to work with Tiger Finance. Each employee has unique experiences and perspectives, but they all agreed that there are many benefits to working for Tiger Finance.

Kiara Interview

Hi Kiara, thank you for taking the time to chat today. Could you tell us a bit about your experience working with Tiger Finance?

Kiara: “Sure! I started pretty much from when the business launched and am currently the head of finance, and I love it!

What’s your favourite part about working with Tiger Finance?

K: “I think probably the office dog, which is always a bonus in my book. It’s really nice to have a furry friend around to brighten up our day and help us de-stress when things get a bit hectic.”

That sounds lovely, but you’ve been part of the team for a lot longer than the dog! What about the team made you stick around?

K: “Well, we also have an annual Christmas party which is always a lot of fun. It’s a great way to celebrate the end of the year with my colleagues and let loose a bit.”

Kiara laughs at this and asks for it not to put it in the article.

“More realistically, I enjoy my job here. My colleagues are great, and the expectations in the office are realistic. We have a business-casual dress code, so I’m always comfortable but professional, which I like.”

Those all sound like great benefits. What about the office culture? Do you like it?

K: “Definitely. One thing that I really appreciate about Tiger is its strong commitment to inclusion. I’ve been on the team for a really long time and I’ve always felt heard by management, and now I’m in a leadership position myself, it’s important to me that everyone’s voices are heard and valued. Our work culture is also really supportive and collaborative. People are always willing to lend a hand and help each other out. It’s a really great feeling knowing that I’m not alone and that my team feels the same way.”

Do you feel that your job is rewarding?

K: “Absolutely. Don’t get me wrong, there are tough days, like any job. But I’ve been in the industry so long because I feel a real sense of purpose and fulfillment with the work that we do. I’m part of a fast-growing team that is doing important work, and that’s exciting for me.”

Kim Interview

Hi Kim, thank you for joining us today. Can you tell us a little about your job with Tiger Finance and what you consider the benefits to be?

Kim: “Sure, I’d be happy to. I’m the admin manager at Tiger Finance and my personal favourite benefits to the job are the constant free food and the amount of breaks we get a day!”

Breaks?

K: “Yep, we get two 15 minute breaks everyday plus a 45 minute break. I think this really allows you to take breaks when you mentally need. Really allows you to recharge.”

That’s true. What do you appreciate most about the work culture at Tiger Finance?

K: “There’s an emphasis on team work here that I think other companies lack. Everyone jumps in to help each other with clients if they’ve faced similar problems with their applications or even just have extra time. But I really appreciate the great work-life balance. We’re encouraged to take time off when we need it, and there’s a real emphasis on not overworking ourselves, and if we have to work overtime it’s always paid.”

What’s your favourite part about working for Tiger Finance?

K: “The diversity of the work. We have a wide array of things going on at the moment and everyday is a new day for me.”

Cleo Interview

Hello Cleo, thank you for joining us today. Can you tell us a little about your job and what you consider to be the benefits of working with Tiger Finance?

Cleo: “Sure. I’m a Mortgage Broker with Tiger. One thing I find to be the most beneficial are our brekkie meetings. We have them every Friday which is great for me, because I can be forgetful at times, so it’s nice to be reminded of what’s happening in everybody’s life. Plus, it’s nice to have a bit of social time over a coffee and a meal, you know? Before buckling down into work.”

It’s a nice way to start off the day, I’m sure. What do you appreciate most about your job?

C: “I feel like there’s a real focus on work quality over quantity, because obviously we handle people’s finances and that has a real world impact, so we need to take our time and ensure there are no mistakes. If we speed through and mess it up, there are consequences that affect the whole office, not just my team, you know? So I appreciate that it’s understood I need to go slowly.”

Do you find your job rewarding?

C: “Yes. Like I said before, we’re dealing with people’s finances, but we’re also dealing with their livelihood. It feels really good to help someone find a great loan, and knowing that I did it quickly and correctly makes me feel good.”

What’s your favourite part about being on the Tiger Finance team?

C: “The four computer monitors I have help a ton! It makes it really easy for me to keep track of what I’m doing, and also be more productive. But my favourite part is the fact that the team recognises my hard work and my improvements, which I appreciate. Sometimes you can feel lost in the noise of a team, but I’ve never felt like just another employee here. I’ve always felt like management really wants me to do well, and put myself out there and take on challenging tasks for my own benefit, not just theirs.”

Overall, the employees we spoke with had a lot of positive things to say about working for Tiger Finance. It’s clear that working in finance can be difficult, but with the help of a good team and tangible benefits like free food extra breaks and a supportive work environment, there are many reasons why people enjoy working with us.
